Healing In Connection
As humans, we are physiologically wired for connection. From the moment of conception, our survival intricately depends on our relationships with other humans and with the Earth. Despite a deep modern conditioning that we should be able to do everything on our own, we are innately designed for connection.
Nervous system healing happens in connection. It is through many experience of safety and co-regulation in connection that we learn to self-regulate. I am here to provide that holding, as you move through things that currently feel too big for your own system to be with in presence.
Through presence and support, I guide my clients to open up to trust that life is always providing learning opportunities that do not need to be controlled or resisted. My role in this work is to be a steady source of support as you lean into discomfort and find more flow and coherence in your nervous system.
As the nervous system comes into greater coherence and order, all systems of the body begin to function in harmony. Building flexibility and resilience in the nervous system decreases the expression of uncomfortable physiologic symptoms and creates more ease throughout all of life.

A Somatic Perspective on Trauma
Trauma is not just what happened — it's what happened inside us as a result. From a somatic lens, trauma lives in the body as a lasting imprint on the nervous system, shaping how we feel, relate, and respond to life.
It arises when an experience overwhelms our system’s ability to cope. This can include single events — like an accident, loss, or medical crisis — but often, the most impactful trauma is slower and less obvious. It can come from what didn’t happen: the absence of safety, attunement, or consistent care in our earliest relationships. Disruptions in our attachment and early environment that shape how we learn to be in our bodies, how we relate to others, and how safe it feels to simply exist.
The body, in its wisdom, finds ways to adapt: tightening, bracing, going numb, overachieving, disconnecting. These patterns are not flaws — they are intelligent survival strategies. But over time, they can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, shut down, or out of sync with ourselves.
Somatic Experiencing supports you in gently unwinding these patterns. Rather than retelling the story, we follow the language of the body — sensation, breath, impulse — to support the nervous system in finding more safety, fluidity, and choice.
Healing, from this perspective, is not about fixing. It’s about re-establishing connection: to your body, to your truth, to the parts of you that had to go quiet to survive.
It’s slow, relational work — and it honors your system’s timing. Bit by bit, we restore the conditions for your innate aliveness to re-emerge.

My role is to help you build capacity, deepen presence, and stay with what’s real — even when it’s uncomfortable. I offer accountability, reflection, and gentle challenge. But the wisdom? That lives in you.

The Somatic Experiencing Approach
My approach to healing trauma and building nervous system resilience is rooted in professional training in Somatic Experiencing® (SE) — a body-oriented method developed by Dr. Peter Levine, based on over 50 years of multidisciplinary research in stress physiology, animal behavior, neuroscience, psychology, and indigenous healing traditions.
SE is grounded in the observation that wild animals regularly face threat, yet rarely become traumatized. They instinctively discharge survival energy and return to baseline. Humans, by contrast, often override these natural impulses, trapping survival energy in the body and creating symptoms like anxiety, chronic tension, emotional dysregulation, or shutdown.
SE helps us identify where the nervous system is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, and gently guides us to renegotiate those states — not by reliving trauma, but by tuning into sensation, impulse, and movement in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
Healing from trauma, especially developmental or attachment trauma, is slow, relational work. It honors your system’s timing. Bit by bit, we restore the conditions for your innate aliveness to re-emerge — along with more ease, capacity, and connection to life.
